Ten minutes tonight that most small businesses never spend:
Pull out your phone, open a private browsing window, and search your own business name.
Look at what a customer actually sees. Not what you think is there — what’s actually there.
Check five things:
Are your hours right? Holiday hours too. Wrong hours are the fastest way to lose someone standing outside your locked door.
Does the phone number connect? Call it. I’ve found disconnected numbers on live listings more than once.
Does the website link work? Old links survive site rebuilds and quietly send people nowhere.
Are there photos? Listings with photos get meaningfully more clicks than ones without. If the only image is a grey map pin, you’re invisible next to the competitor with twelve shots of their work.
Have you replied to your reviews? All of them, including the bad ones. A calm reply to a one-star review does more for you than the review costs you.
That’s it. Free, takes ten minutes, and it’s the single highest-return thing most local businesses have sitting undone.
If you check yours and something looks broken, drop a comment — happy to tell you how to fix it.
